Dr. Lauren Fontaine grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and is an avid athlete. She was a part of the AAA-State Championship basketball team her Senior year of high school. She graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Exercise Science. She completed her education at the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida. Throughout college and graduate school, she participated in intramural athletics, acting as Intra-Mural Coordinator at Centenary College. At Palmer she served on the Student Council, worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Palmer Student Clinic, and traveled to Morocco, Africa, on a Chiropractic mission trip in an effort to help many disadvantaged citizens throughout the area. She considers the trip one of a life-changing magnitude. She is still active and loves being outdoors with her husband, Clint, and three young children, Lila, Jake, and Audrey. As a family, they also enjoy neighborhood walks, days at the lake, and spending time with their faithful black lab, Simon.
Dr. Fontaine grew to love the field of Chiropractic while working for a Chiropractor during summer breaks throughout high school and college. After suffering a knee injury, she saw first-hand how Chiropractic care can help a person rehabilitate and strengthen after injuries. These experiences enabled her to see how regular Chiropractic care can significantly improve people’s health and well-being, which in turn led her to develop an understanding and appreciation of the value of the Chiropractic profession.
Dr. Fontaine worked for a time as an Associate Chiropractor in Columbia, South Carolina, and is now happy to make Boone her home. She moved to this area to be closer to her family and to enjoy the beautiful setting that the High Country provides. Dr. Fontaine looks forward to helping her patients enjoy happier, healthier lives through the non-invasive, conservative approach of Chiropractic.
